Toronto gay activist, Mark Kari, who runs the website, told the Globe and Mail that most major-league teams sponsor homosexual events, but that the Jays were one of the first to take a key role in organizing and promoting such an event.

In what may be an attempt to sell a more wholesome image of homosexuality to the public, the Blue Jays have taken the initiative to host a “Pride Day,” a homosexual-themed game played against the Washington Expos beginning at 7:07 pm.
